Researchers are looking for people to join a nation-wide survey into past adoption experiences, to identify the support and service needs of people affected. Any help you could provide in promoting the study would be appreciated.

The study is focused on the period of ‘closed adoptions’ that was in practice until the 1990s in some parts of Australia. Closed adoption was the approach that sealed the identities of adopted children, with the intention of helping the child to settle into the adoptive family.

The study will be the largest of this nature ever conducted in Australia. It is being undertaken by the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS),which is a highly experienced research body with a history of respecting sensitivities and privacy.
